Problems for some new G4 – Macitynet.it
Just ten days ago Apple announced new professional models, the 1.42 GHz PowerMac G4, FireWire 800, AirPort Extreme, etc.
Probably no one has yet received, at least in Italy, the new models, but Apple through a special kBase notifies that part of the PowerMacs already traveling to the owners will have to be replaced.
What's the problem? Some motherboards are malfunctioning (connection with the speakers) and when the computer exits from the stop or restarts it shows after about 9 seconds a "Speaker Connection" error message such as the one shown on the side.
The (few, Apple says) PowerMacs potentially affected by the problem have a previous serial number or that contains this part of numbering: xx304xxxxxx.
