Panasonic has announced the arrival on the market of UE100, a camera capable of supporting a large variety of transmission protocols on IP networks, primarily full lNDI up to 250Mbps in 4K, lNDI | HX in H.264 Full HD and new technology Secure Reliable Transport (SRT).
This new PTZ camera – an acronym for Pan-Tilt-Zoom, the name given to a particular type of video camera where the user can control the movement and position of the lenses remotely – equipped with a new generation direct drive single-movement motor and with low noise. It is designed to be used in live, remote and studio production, for broadcast and live staging applications, for corporate events and installations in addition to sports production.
Panasonic UE100 has a 1 / 2.5 ″ 4K MOS sensor that allows to obtain UHD 4K / 60 / 50P images and equipped with different interfaces, including 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, lHDMI and lIP simultaneously. Lottica provides a wide angle lens with a horizontal viewing angle of 74.1 degrees and therefore capable of high performance even in small environments, its 24x optical zoom makes it the camera with the best telephoto lens capability in its segment, allowing can also be used in productions with very large dimensions.
Thanks to the full NDI technology it allows the transmission of high quality and low latency signals in 4K / 60 / 50P and obviously also in Full HD, respectively at the speed of about 250 Mbps and 100 Mbps, using the available gigabit LAN port. The camera also offers NDI | HX technology with H.264 compression in full HD at low bitrate.
Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) ensures high stability when transmitting 4K video, even in the case of a non-dedicated network connection such as a VPN, while the RTMP / RTMPS function allows live streaming of video streams, both in H. 265 (UHD) and H.264 (Full HD) directly on YouTube Live, Facebook Live or other platforms, using the encoding part of the camera itself.
The FreeD protocol also allows direct camera integrability with all AR / VR graphics systems, which through this protocol are able to calibrate the camera and control its movements (Pan / Tilt / Zoom / Focus / Iris), so to integrate systems without the need for an encoder or additional accessories. The introduction of the new direct drive mechanism, with rotation compensation, also ensures high stability and silence in this new chamber during Pan / Tilt operations.
On the other hand, the range of the Pan in this chamber of 175 and that of Tilt goes from -30 to 210. Other features available are the four position ND filters (Clear, 14, 1/16, 1/64), the night mode can be activated for infrared shooting and the PoE ++ support to be powered via a network switch with these electrical characteristics or via a PoE injector.
The Panasonic UE100 camera will be available in black and white from the third quarter of 2020. The price has yet to be determined.
