OnePlus 8 Pro the most recent top of the range launched by the Shenzhen-based company. According to what many experts in the sector say, it would also be the best smartphone of the Chinese company, and the excellent response of these first weeks seems to confirm it.
Unlike its predecessors, OnePlus 8 Pro is a device that encompasses all the features that "were missing" in previous generations. For example, the new top of the range has support for fast wireless charging, an IP degree of protection for dust and water resistance and a camera configuration of the highest quality.
OnePlus 8 Pro indeed has 4 cameras on the back, a bit like all the top of the range of competing companies. However, the choice of OnePlus camera sensors is not in line with current trends. Instead of using a sensor Samsung ISOCELL 108 MP or a 64 MP Sony IMX686 sensor, OnePlus 8 Pro integrates a 48 MP Sony IMX689 primary sensor.
The main camera accompanied by an 48 MP ultra-wide sensor, an 8 MP telephoto camera and a new 5 MP color filter camera: a structure that so far has not been seen in any other smartphone.
OnePlus states that the color filter camera is used for camera filters that can be applied to the final shot. The sensor can therefore be used for infrared photography, using the new Photochrom mode. However, apparently, there is another method of use for the new color filter camera. According to a post recently appeared on the famous XDA forum, the sensor can also be used for see through some objects of plastic.
By clicking on the images of some plastic objects, the Color Filter camera in Photochrom mode manages to reveal their internal circuits. In a video shared on the original thread, you can see how the "function" can also show the internal circuits of a TV remote control.
