The time is running for the release of Mac OS X 10.1.4.
According to some sites dedicated to indiscretions, in fact, 'Pink' (this is the code name of the update) would have been sent to the developers in a rather advanced version that suggests an imminent launch.
Improvements to the section dealing with managing the graphics card, the finder and the search system are listed among the news that the updates would introduce. Some news also in the audio field, as we already mentioned during yesterday's edition, with the support of third-party cards.
Version 10.2.4 seen in San Francisco and intended to support the new machines introduced at the Expo also had new features in the Bluetooth garment (with an assistant and a serial utility for the wireless system) and presented several minor updates to applications and components.
'Pink' should also be optimized to support new versions of iApps which are slated for release later this week. It is therefore legitimate to believe that after the launch of iMovie 3.0, iPhoto 2.0 and the new iDVD, Mac OS will also see a new version.
There is no doubt that if there are really new G4 and / or new iMacs during the week, they will also have their version of Mac OS x 10.2.4.
Mac OS x 10.2.4 will, as always, be distributed with the download formula via 'Software Update' and then also supplied as a stand alone installer.
