iWebcamera: use iPhone as a webcam, now also on Mac – Macitynet.it
The drahtwerk developer has made iWebcamera's Mac OS X drivers available, the app that turns iPhone into a wireless webcam that can be used by the computer. Recall that the app available on the App Store for about a week was initially launched with the availability of only the drivers for Windows systems.
After purchasing and installing the iWebcamera app on iPhone, you can download the drivers for our computer starting from this page of the developer. On both Mac and Windows no special configurations are required, just make sure that the iWebcamera drivers can access both the local network, for the transmission of the video, and the Web for the software update function. In addition to transforming iPhone into a wireless webcam, iWebcamera allows you to select two different options for video quality and to pause and resume the webcam function.
Before proceeding with the purchase, an important limitation must be kept in mind: in Mac OS X the developer warns that iWebcamera does not work with iChat and Photobooth. Conversely, Skype, Yahoo and all other major chat and messaging software are supported. iWebcamera works on iPhones of any generation from the first EDGE onwards: requires iPhone OS 3.1.
iWebcamera offered on the App Store for 3.99 euros. The price still discounted by 50%.
