Here is a preview of the new version of the Maps program for iPhone

As you will have read in the past few months, with the imminent release of iOS 6 Apple has finally decided to abandon Google Maps as regards the provision of maps to its users.

The Cupertino company, in fact, has been developing its application for months to provide maps and satellite navigation to its users without having to rely on Google services anymore.

Here, below, the preview images of what will be the 3D Maps application that Apple will integrate into iOS 6, coming in all probability within a month or so.

Apparently, Apple is also testing 3D functionality in iOS 6's Build 10A3XX, which of course is an experimental version of the operating system dedicated to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

After almost 5 years, therefore, it seems that Apple is ready to abandon Google as regards the supply of maps.

At the moment we don't know how the software will work: will they only offer online maps? Will you only offer offline maps? Will it also provide spoken navigation instructions like Google Maps for Android? We will see what Apple has in store for its users.

However, we expect Apple to present the Maps application for iPhone during WWDC 2012, which will be held in June in a few days.

See you soon for more details.
