The new top model of the FRITZ! Family of the German AVM, previewed at CEBIT 2013 combines gigabit speed and new generation hardware.
The use of the latest vectorization technology makes the device ready for the next increase in the speed of the VDSL lines. With the WLAN 802.11ac standard of 1300 Mbit / s, currently under ratification, the FRITZ! Box 7490 offers a home wireless network with higher speed and range. The parallel use of both 2.4 GHz (3 × 3 MIMO, 450 Mbit / s) and 5 GHz (3 × 3 MIMO, at 1300 Mbit / s) frequencies, total compatibility with 802.11a / standards b / g / n, the four Gigabit LAN ports and the two USB 3.0 ports complete the functional profile of the network device.
As regards telephony, however, the new 7490 integrates a telephone switchboard, multiple answering machines, a DECT base station that supports up to six cordless telephones and various options for connecting analog, ISDN and / or IP telephones. The device designed for use with all telephone lines, whether IP, ISDN or analog. The Media Server offers streaming of images, videos and music throughout the home network, whether data is stored on the network or in the cloud and, with the latest FRITZ! OS, the FRITZ! Box 7490 is transformed into a central monitoring of the "Smart Home".
The slogan "Complete Home Networking" also debuts two new FRITZ! Boxes with lower performance, 7272 and 3272, respectively successors of the classic 7270 and 3270. With the new 7369AVM, the first model that integrates the line aggregation technology VDSL (bonding). The "aggregate" use of two lines allows to reach a data transfer speed via VDSL of up to 240 Mbit / s. Another preview of FRITZ! Box 6490 Cable, also equipped with WLAN AC and developed for wired internet connectivity.
