BestBuy sells iPhone 3G the day after tomorrow
Starting on September 7, Americans will also be able to buy an iPhone 3G in Best Buy stores, the first chain in the United States for consumer electronics. Until now in the USA it was possible to buy an iPhone directly in one of the 190 Apple Stores or at one of the stores authorized by the operator AT&T, about 2000 in all the USA but not from independent retailers.
Thanks to the recent agreement announced by Apple and Best Buy, the presence of the Apple smartphone in the territory increases by about 30% in one go: in addition to the previous 2200 total points of sale, from 7 September with Best Buy iPhone it will be available in just under 3,000 stores. Over 970 are the sales points scattered throughout the USA Best Buy, to which are added also 16 Best Buy outlets specialized on mobile devices.
With the marketing of the iPhone, the link between Cupertino and the mammoth consumer electronics chain is strengthened. Best Buy has always offered iPod players and more recently it hosts numerous stores inside the store: these are the Apple Shops housed within approximately 600 Best Buy stores. In practice until September 7 in the United States there were no independent retailers for iPhone: now also the marketing in the USA follows the models adopted by Apple for most of the countries where iPhone is present.
On the AppleInsider website, a photograph of a flyer created by Best Buy to advertise the marketing of the iPhone has been published: we report the image in this article. From the text it is learned that the sales staff will carry out the email setting and the smartphone setup free of charge, for all customers who purchase special packages together with the iPhone. Bundle prices start at $ 106, around 74 euros, for the "On the go" kit which includes 5 screen-saving films and Shure earphones, up to $ 234, around 160 euros, for the "In the car" kit with a Belkin FM Transmitter and the Jawbone Bluetooth headset.
