Better late than never. Finally Arlo announces the compatibility of some of its products without wires with Apple's HomeKit platform. To add the new feature are the cameras Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2.
This means that users can now activate Apple's home automation system, allowing interaction between compatible Arlo wireless devices.
Until yesterday, in fact, the only Arlo compatible camera was the wired one and equipped with a good number of sensors, Arlo Baby.
More specifically, the compatibility of the wireless models comes with Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2, which are supported by the main Arlo base station models, VMB4000 and VMB4500. The novelty will ensure greater convenience for iPhone and iPad users, who will be able to access certain functions of their Arlo Pro or Arlo Pro 2 cameras within the HomeKit home automation system, using the Apple Home app and Siri voice control.
Remember that thanks to HomeKit support, Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2 users, whose cameras are combined with the VMB4000 or VMB4500 base station models, can now receive notifications on the Home app, whenever motion is detected by the cameras. Furthermore, it will be possible to use Siri to quickly activate HD live streaming footage on your iPhone or iPad, with a simple voice command.
In addition, Arlo Pro and Pro 2 users will now have the ability to set some functions to control smart home devices compatible with HomeKit and registered on their account. For example, it is possible to set the automatic activation of the lights connected to HomeKit, whenever movement is detected by the Arlo Pro or Arlo Pro 2 cameras.
The Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2 cameras are completely wireless and with rechargeable batteries, all available on Amazon.
