Apple Store: here is the plan to restart safely

Apple illustrated the plan for the gradual reopening of its stores worldwide, after closure determined by the health emergency. To date there are about 100 points of sale returned operational after the lockdown and the company wanted to specify on the basis of which parameters the reopenings are determined, what are the changes made in the individual Apple Stores to ensure customer safety and what other measures to avoid the spread of infections.

On the first point, Apple specifies that takes any useful data into consideration: the number of cases recorded in the area, the trend of the epidemic curve in the short and long term, and the indications of the national and local health authorities. These are not rushed decisions, Apple points out, and do not exclude subsequent closings if the conditions for reopening no longer exist.

Apple then specified which ones measures have been adopted to guarantee both staff and customers to access the Store safely:

  • The stores have been reorganized to allow employees and customers to have more space to move, in this way you can respect the interpersonal safety distance and avoid gatherings
  • Both employees and customers must wear one facial protection. Customers who do not have it are provided by Apple Store staff
  • Temperature controls body at the entrance. Those who experience symptoms such as cough or fever are asked about the state of health
  • During the day they are carried out cleaning accurate surfaces, products on display and the most highly visited areas of the store
  • Some Apple Stores allow you to do the product withdrawal without entering the shop (the package is delivered near the entrance)

The illustrated plan is operational for all the Apple Stores worldwide, including the Italian ones that will start again tomorrow. Not all of them, given that, as specified by the company, the assessments are differentiated according to the individual geographical area, which is why in Italy the stores in Lombardy and Piedmont – the two regions with a still high percentage of infections – will not reopen for the moment.
