Apple, new MobileMe and App to find your iPhone and iPad
As announced earlier yesterday, there are important news for MobileMe. The suite of online services has in fact been graphically and functionally renewed by applying a series of variations that should improve its usability.
The main one, in addition to the completely changed home screen, the use of a sort of floating bar that presents all the icons of the online applications to a large size. Every time you press the button at the top right (where previously the icons of Mail, iDisk, FindMyPhone etc. were found) there is now only the iDisk icon by pressing which appears a sort of dock with all the buttons of the functionality.
Aesthetic renewal also for galleries and calendars, while iDisk as well as some new graphics also presents a simplification of operation; in practice, two buttons at the top allow access to the basic function: upload or download files.
Finally FindMyPhone has larger maps and, above all, now linked to a free application developed by Apple distributed by the App Store. The program does everything the online application does: locate your mobile phone (or iPad) on a map, remotely erase or lock the device, ring the device or show a warning. To download and use Find My Phone you obviously need a subscription to Mobile Me.
MobileMe, available in English, French, German and Japanese, costs 79 euros and can be purchased from the Apple Store; You can try all the services for free using the demo function offered by Apple.
