Apple calls some iPhone power supplies (not the Italian ones) logomacitynet1200wide 1

Apple recalls some of the power supplies that recharge the batteries of the iPhone 3G. The accessories concerned are not those sold together with telephones marketed in Italy, but the "ultra-compact" ones distributed in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Per (and proposed as an accessory in Argentina, Chile , Costa Rica and Panama).

The problem lies in the metal tabs; if subjected to particular stress they can break and get stuck in the socket, with the consequent risk of electric shock. Apple believes this case is rare, but in the face of some reports it has decided to replace the power supplies that must be sent back to Cupertino free of charge; in exchange you will get (from 10 October) a new redesigned model. The newly designed power supplies are already in circulation and are distinguished by the presence of a green dot.

Waiting for the shipment of the new power supply, whoever has one of these accessories must stop using it and recharge the phone using the USB port of the computer or a third party accessory
